Geocache Description:

***THE ABOVE COORDINATES ARE NOT FOR THE CACHE BUT ARE WITHIN 10KMS OF THE CACHE LOCATION THE COORDINATES ARE HIDDEN IN THE STORY***

October 2003 was our first geocaching adventure it rained snowed and hailed this miserable day. We remember Yahtzee asking us if we would like to go geocaching with him, as there wasn’t much else to do. When we asked him what exactly that was he replied and said, well were going to look for a treasure hidden in the woods.

Now this is where we got hooked! Never did we think that geocaching would have brought us to so many beautiful places. “ A Tree With A View” was a lot of fun, we walked around for a long time trying to find the path that led to the tree that we could see. We also have a way of finding closer parking, but this does not always mean it’s the easiest way to the cache. This we did when we set out to do “Hiking in Hungry Hollow”, we went down the biggest steepest hill you ever did see, only to have to go back up the biggest steepest hill you ever did see. Some of our favorite caches are hidden on rail trails, “This and That Cache” was, it was also close to a Pub night we had planned to attend that evening. It’s also amazing how many green spaces we have, that have yet to be discovered. A nice one we visited was “ The Eagle Has Landed” although some would call these backyard caches we liked this one. We both agree however that going caching with another cacher is always a nice treat. We had great company when we did “Sulphur Cache” even though, your going the wrong way is still echoing in my head (yeah! Dave you were right) but as it states in our log, were glad we did as we would never had seen the Sulphur Spring, as an added bonus we got to share a milestone with another cacher sure makes for some awesome memories.

Well as a geocacher you must know, there are times you go caching and there are times you do not, for us this was “Quasy Cache10-Brock Reserve”. The snow had just started to fall when we left home, but I’ll tell you by the time we reached the parking area we could barely see where we were going, guess we should have listened to the weather man, he did say there was a snow storm on the way. “Finding Nemo-Marlin” is one we don’t have fond memories of, we did however learn to mark our park, but still managed to get lost in this same track of land three times, one never learns. Some caches say it all in the title “MosquitoVille( Happy series #2)”. We did this cache with some family members, good thing there was still a little bit of snow on the ground as it sure kept those mosquitoes away. Hiking along a river is always nice, except when your GPS is saying you need to go up that hill, “Quasy Cache 5-Merritt Trail” made us do this twice. It’s always nice to meet other cachers along the trails. We met the Rideau Rangers while we were doing “Parking on the Credit:Erindale” really nice people, but all cachers are really nice people. Then there’s “Breezy Fields”, I’ll tell you when you go caching with Yahtzee your always going to go on an adventure. We did another cache in this area, walked back to our car, punched in the nearest cache, and drove for almost 2kms before we realized we needed to park in the same place we had just been in twenty minutes before. Than the long, slushy, mucky walk to the cache.

Thanks to all of you for placing these caches, and thanks to Yahtzee for taking us caching on that miserable day back in October, we are truly having a wonderful time!
