Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates will lead you to the cache site which is along the mystic Bayou Maringouin. This unique cache container is bigger than a micro, but smaller than an ammo can. Please log your visit, and take care to replace the cache as it was found to ensure fun for others as well . Make sure and enjoy the beauty of the area and do some fishing too.

The water level comes up in this area, so knee boots may be needed at certain times to access the cache. Mosquito repellent may be needed too.

Bayou Maringouin is one of the many great fishing locations in the Atchafalaya Spillway. Sac-a-lait is the Cajun term for crappie. The Acadians began calling this fish "sac-a-lait" which means "sack of milk" in French.

In the cache, we've included some sac-a-lait fishing supplies for trade (see picture below). Since this is a theme cache, we'd appreciate the trade of fishing related items that will fit in the container. A detailed list of the contents is as follows:

Very close to the cache location is a primitive boat launch used by local fishermen. It's a muddy launch, but launches a light boat just fine.
