Geocache Description:

Multi cache situated in the village of Edington near Westbury. This one involves a shortish walk that can get muddy. Not suitable for pushchairs. Should be completed in around 20 mins.

Edington Priory is the parish church of Edington. It is dedicated to St Mary, St Katharine and All Saints and is one of the greatest village churches in all England. Replacing an earlier Norman Church and built by William of Edington, Bishop of Winchester, it is a magnificent example of perpendicular architecture.
The posted co-ordinates take you to a cross. Find the year that William Chapman Snr died and put it in the following format and label the numbers abcd.

Now solve the following equation by substituting the bracketed numbers to take you to the cache (35mm film canister).

N 5 1 16 . d-a 3 a+a
W 002 06 . b-d b-a b

When solved be careful of the main road as it is busy with not much parking available.

Happy hunting cachers and when if you take the opportunity to get to the top you will be rewarded with excellent views. See if you can spot the crocodile in the south-east direction. You can see it for miles all around Wiltshire.
