According to 'English Heritage' - "Portchester can be considered a complete history of England in one place"
First used by the Romans, the site was then a Saxon settlement between the 5th and 9th centuries.
A Castle was first built in the 12th century and was used in the Middle Ages by King Henry I and Richard II.
It is free to enter the castle square and there is a shop/cafe. An ice cream van usually sits in the car park in the summer.
There is a charge to tour the castle keep. Opening times, charges and other useful information can be found at the English Heritage Website.
There can be lots and lots of GeoMuggles present - please be discreet when removing/replacing the cache.
You are looking for an ammo box with a sort of camouflage pattern.
