Geocache Description:

Sanatoga Park is located just off High St. The cache is a green ammo box. The park is open from 7am until sunset.

This park has something for everyone. There is a small lake for fishing, basketball court, baseball field and a new large playground. The park also offers a picnic area and pavilion. You will enjoy the area, but probably not as much as our ancestors did.

The History of Sanatoga Park:
Up until 1939 the park also contained an amusement park. The park had roller coasters, a circle swing, and other rides and booths. There was a bridge across the dam, so people could stroll along both sides of the lake. The park also contained a race car track.
In 1939, when the roller coaster was to be demolished, it was bought by the A. D. Moyer Lumber Co., who promptly tore it down and sold the lumber to customers in Gilbertsville.
Today, only a few remnants of the amusement park can be found in the woods on the hillside. Some concrete blocks that once served as foundations for rides, and a couple of other foundations of long-gone structures.

You can park at either place to access the cache location. During the summer you may need to use some stealth tactics because the park can get a bit busy. Please re-hide as well because of possible muggles.
