Glen Abbey GC Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.
When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link (Mine) across the top and then click on this cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Cache-tech

Geocache Description:

The cache is located on a well defined hard packed trail just off of Dorval Drive at Old Abbey Lane. On road parking can be found just south of the entrance to the trail. The cache is about 100m from the road.

The cache is located on a trail across from the main entrance to the Glen Abbey Golf Course.Glen Abbey Golf Club will be remembered for years as the site of "The Shot of 2000" — Tiger Woods' 218-yard 6-iron from a fairway bunker on the 18th hole to set up the birdie that clinched the Bell Canadian Open and the Triple Crown. (Tiger's Triple included his victories in the 2000 U.S., British and Bell Canadian Opens.) Canada's No. 8 ranked golf course is open to anyone wishing to retrace Tiger's historic steps and challenge Jack Nicklaus' first solo design. Opened in 1976, Glen Abbey is held in high esteem by Tour players for its difficulty — 7,112 yards, Slope 140 from the Black tees — but it is surprisingly accommodating from the shorter tees. You can freewheel with the driver on its receptive fairways, but the greens are devilishly undulating and protected by steep bunkers. Nine-minute tee-time intervals help keep play moving along, and the maintenance is immaculate. Glen Abbey is in Oakville, Ontario, just west of Toronto.
