Geocache Description:

This multi cache requires knowledge of poker, cribbage, chess and checkers. There are 6 waypoints and the hike is around 3 miles -- so this cache will probably take a couple hours.

This multi cache is hidden in the woods behind UNH's Kingman Farm; your path will take you briefly onto private property that allows hikers, but has signs up requesting that people not ride bikes (although you see people on bikes there all of the time...) It will probably take you a couple of hours -- there are six waypoints total and a hike of around 3 miles.

You will need to bring your knowledge of poker, cribbage, checkers and chess. I am not including clues on how to solve any of the questions involved in the cache, but you will find description of where each cache is hidden in the hints.

All of the containers are camo taped, and all but the final cache are either film canisters or small gladware containers. No container is more than 20 feet off the trail (most aren't even that far -- if any... just a safe guess on my part), so please don't bushwhack -- lots of poison ivy and wet areas. Also, the trail can be very wet in places... muddy muddy muddy.

When you come across a clue that has the waypoint listed with ABC of DEF, the number in front of the answer to the corresponding questions will be used to replace the letter.
Example:
N12* 34.56A
A. Geo...
5 hiking
6 computing
7 caching
8 reading

The other puzzles have instructions included or work on similar principles. There are a couple of puzzles that include some math, but none that is overly difficult -- but bring some paper and a calculator so you don't go awry because of a math error.

The final cache has a game theme. Also included are some Geocaching.com pencils that you can take (while they last!).

One way to leave the woods: standing at the cache site, face the trail and go right. Turn right at the major trail intersection and in a little bit, you find some familiar territory.

Have fun! (I hope this doesn't frustrate anybody too much!) Please e-mail me with feedback!

This is also a camera cache! Please take a photo and put the number in the your log.

Update! 9/15/2004

I have talked to people in the area and apparently it is OK to use mountain bikes in the area -- as long as one stays on the path! Also, I had set this cache up using the parking area on 155 by the UNH buildings... I never knew about the parking area and trailhead by the Madbury town hall. One can use either parking area, but the first waypoint is closer to the dirt area on Rt 155.

Update! 5/7/2005

Ooops! I made a mistake and FISMO caught it!!! When I replaced the cards at the 4th waypoint I did something wrong. If we were playing cut-throat, she would have gotten 4 points off of me! The numbers one the cards were fine, but let's just say there are a few too many of the same suit...

The fix: Follow all of the directions and do the math. When you are finished, subtract 48 from you number for the W coordinant.
