Geocache Description:

This is a offset puzzle cache. The co-ordinates given are in the general area, but you must obtain the exact position from the clue below.

A short walk beside the River Lagan. Asphalt paths throughout, 2Km by the shortest route. This cache page was re-written and the associated puzzle revised on 16th April 2005. Thanks to Lance Ambu for permission to use his photo of Drumbeg Bridge.

Directions: There is a car park at N54 32.073 W5 59.051, accessed from the Upper Malone Road (B103), at Drumbeg. The path to the cache is suitable for wheelchair users, but there is a flight of steps to be negotiated at the car park itself.

The setting: This part of the river lies in the Lagan Valley Regional Park. There is abundant bird life and (very occasionally) otters may be seen along the far bank. The path runs close to the rive bank so please keep young children under supervision.

This linked map shows the parking place and towpath. The walk to the cache is along part of NCN9 - a route in the Sustrans National Cycle Network. Please watch out for cyclists when on the path.

The cache: A tab-lock box 15x10x5cm is hidden near ground level. When re-hiding the cache, please ensure that the covering material is replaced so that it is well hidden from view.

Update 11/8/18:- The cache has been renewed and a fresh logbook started.

The puzzle: The co-ordinates on this page will take you to one of the "Millennium Mileposts" which were set up to inaugurate the cycle network. This example was designed by Belfast sculptor David Dudgeon.
