Tarsta Borg / Tarsta Fort

In Närke there are some 30 known prehistoric forts. They were mainly used as placed of refuge in times of unrest and belong mainly to the late Iron Age (400 - 1050 A.D.)
The fort at Tarsta is 150x140m. The west side is protected by the steep hill-side. On the other sides strong walls have been built for defence. To the south the fort is further protected by an outer wall. The four entrances in the wall were probably originally covered by wooden structures.

Between Pålsboda and Sköllersta, there is a small road across an statue-maker to the Fort and parkingplace. After you have parked at the parkingplace (N59 05.416 E015 19.879) there are 800m walk on a well used path, slightly steep at the end, but with wooden stairs.

When we sat there today, we saw an hawk fly pass us, not over us! Felt like we were on birds hight! There are a little table and fireplace for picknick with hotdogs.Don't forget to enjoy the view and the wind in your hair!

The cache is a round Tupperware-box inside an green plastic bag with initial content as picture shows.
