Brooksvale Park (www.brooksvale.org), located in northern Hamden, has a lot to offer hikers, mountain bikers and families. It is adjacent to the Farmington Canal Rail to Trail Greenway (www.farmington.org) so bring your bikes or roller blades.
Park in the small lot near the barn (N 41°27.174' W 072°55.033). Walk through the animal farm, around the pond and over the bridge. The hunt begins on the violet trail. You can view a trail map by following a link on the Activities page (www.brooksvale.org/activities.htm). This is a multi-cache and the co-ordinates are for a micro which is in a film canister. The regular cache is an ammo box; items in it started out with an outdoor/camping theme.
