Hwy. 276 to FS road 477. Go to the second Avery Creek Falls Trail Head. Hike approx. 1 mile up trail toward Avery Creek Falls ( blue Blaze ). Look for a group of 5 or 6 evergreen trees on left side of trail. You are close.
This cache is a small tupperware container, and is close to "The Falls On Avery Creek Trail" cache. It contains: one TB "bike"(trying to get as far west as possible); 4 AA Batteries; Hand Sanitizer; Burts Lotion; Muscle Rub; One Guitar Pick; one Poem, written by my Wife; Log and Pencil. We had a great day on this trail. A typical cool day in pisgah. We found our first cache and were walking toward the Falls when we encountered two rattle snakes sunning on the trail. One was a small Timber Rattler ( still very black in color) and the other was a fat daddy Cane Break Rattler! They were about 3 feet apart and were coiled with their rattles kicking! We CALMLY backed up and gave them their space! On our return trip to the car we decided to leave a cache in honor of our "brush" with nature.
