This could just about be the quintessential back country Canadian lake of all time.Fishing in Wapiti Lake is regarded as good despite the fact the lake lies close to Highway 3/93. The lake is regularly stocked with Rainbow Trout but Brook Trout can also be fished. It is best to fish with a boat or float tube. Winter fishing through the ice is also good.Just to the west of this lake you’ll find the Kootenay River. This area is accessible from several nearby roads. The old road on the west side of the lake has recently been designated as part of the Trans Canada Trail.Contents are in a Rubbermaid container.Starting contents (all things quintessentially Canadian):Logbook, pencils, eraser, pencil sharpenerMoose toy (relatively wapiti)Canadian penCanadian deck of playing cardsCanadian ballCanadian red caboose keychainCanadian Dogwood teaspoonCanadian commemorative coinCanadian elk keychain (definitely wapiti)Canadian Kimberley pinCanadian recording artists 5 CDs (chet&jane’s playlist) **There is a copy for each of the first 5 visitors if they so choose.Canadian RCMP Black Bear Travel Bug
