A special place, not many people actually go to, (although foot prints are seen, not many). On the side of a rock outcropping near a beautiful place. Recommended *final* access leg is from the NW. At a high altititude, 7-8,000 feet.
First of all, PLEASE do not run 4 runners off road near this place. It is extremely beautiful, and in an extremely fragile ecosystem (sub alpine). If you hike the roughly 1.2 miles from the nearest dirt road, you will be rewarded with a pristine view and extremely quiet, peaceful moment in your life.The cache itself is under a stack of small rocks in a niche in the side of a rock outcropping. I averaged 2 GPSs to get the coordinates. You will probably need the hint to find this one.The cache has many very nice goodies in it. Please bring a very nice goody to replace what you take :-)Beware of climbing across flat rocks and pumice slopes. I sent a 100 pound 'rock sled' down towards 'hardway_boyz2', but fortunately he had moved already. It might have taken him out. (We got lucky this day.)You *probably* won't have this problem if you go around the major geological feature of this area CLOCKWISE and approach the cache from the NW. ( We left in almost a straight line from the cache to where we parked the car, in the rough area, to view a cave and try to find another spot we viewed from on top. Hence our names, 'Hardway_Boyz1&2'.)
