Geocache Description:


The Cache
This is a 35mm film cannister micro-cache containing a log book and pencil.(Film cannister now replaced with something a bit more waterproof). Named after The Oaks the second most famous horse race to be run on the Downs after the Derby (the name is also a small clue to the cache loction). All the routes to the cache are in the open so GPS signals should be fine.

Getting there
The cache is located on Epsom Downs, from London A3 then A240. From M25 junction 9 A24. From M25 junction 8 A217 Nearest train stations: Epsom 1 1/2 miles, Tattenham Corner 1 mile. Parking - several options:

  • Tattenham Corner car park is located at: N51.18.398 W000.14.921(Beware the gates are locked every night at 9p.m. )

  • The lane next to the Rubbing House pub (or the pub car park) N51.18.766 W000.15.452

  • Park in Rosebery road and use the footpath N51.18.415 W000.15.838
