This cache is intented to keep bugs moving, it is not intended as a
prison, so please leave a bug and take a bug, but keep them
moving..
This cache was designed for those on the road as a break to
stretch the legs before heading out on the road again. We have
picked up many travel bugs on our travels this year in the
Washington. We though we would give someone else a chance for an
easy to park and walk to cache.
This is a multipart cache for first time finders, but can be
accessed quickly once you know the final location.
Parking: The recommended parking location is at
N48 45.376 W122 26.231 just North of Whatcom Creek
at Saint Clair Park at the end of Saint Clair Street (near Iowa
Drive).
The first location for this multipart cache is about .2 miles
from the parking lot at N48 45.383 W122 26.478. At
the first location, you will find a sign pointing out the damage
that was done by the pipeline leak and explosion in Whatcom Falls
park on June 10, 1999. On that sign there will be a time that the
fireball traveled down the creek. Using that time, take the hour
squared and add that number to the last 3 digits (the decimal part)
of the latitude. Then take the minutes part of the time and cube it
then multiply it by 10 and subtract that to the decimal part of the
longitude.
From the first point to the second point:
N48 45. 383 W122 26. 478
+ hour squared - ((minute cubed)
times 10)
---------------------------------------------------------
N48 45. ? W122 26. ?
Once you get to the second point, you will find a sign. On that
sign there will three numbers in red following the words “PER BMC”
x.yy.zzz. Take the last 2 digits from this sign, and add 1 to them,
then subtract that total from the decimal part of your latitude.
Then take the last three digits, add 12 to them, and subtract that
from the decimal part of your longitude.
From the second point to the cache location:
N48 45. ? W122 26. ?
- (last 2 -(last 3
digits plus 1) digits plus 12)
-----------------------------------------------------
N48 45. ? W122 26. ?
This will now give you the final cache location where the cache is
hidden. To make your trip easier, you should stay on paths until
you are within 50 feet of the final location.
The cache is a large ammo box with a Geocaching.com sticker on
it.
This cache is only for travel bugs exclusively. I will try to
keep 3 travel bugs in the cache at all times.
THERE IS A RULE THAT TWO (2) TRAVEL BUGS NEED TO BE IN THE CACHE
AT ALL TIMES.
If you take a travel bug, please try to leave a travel bug. Feel
free to take one if you can help it on its journey.
Please remember to sign the log book.
