Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series on Agriculture in California.

A major part of California Agriculture is the production of ornamental plants. In fact it is the fourth largest segment of agriculture in California. One part of this is the production of containerized plants for use in landscaping. At the cache site you have a good overview of one of the most innovative nurseries in the US. Their use of reciruclation systems makes them very efficient and productive with minimal impact on the environment. As you look at it you will probably see frequent irrigation throughout the nursery. This is needed because the plants are very healthy and use up the water in the container. However, because the excess water is captured and re-used they can do a lot of irrigation without generating waste water.

As with the other facets of Agriculture in the series, please do not enter either the nursery or the pasture area nearby.

For an overview of California Agriculture, see cache page GCKBJA.
