Purakanui (Purakaunui) is a small seaside settlement approx 20 km from Dunedin. Purakanui Road runs off Blueskin Road which can be accessed from Port Chalmers (best) or Waitati (if coming from the North).
Roads are narrow and parking is limited. I suggest walking to the cache from S45° 44.773' E170° 37.698' (~400 m) or S45° 45.146' E170° 37.934' (~500 m). Terrain is easy walking but take care with pets or children in the vicinity of the cache site. The cache is a 200 ml snaplock container initially stocked with items taken from other caches I have found!
Free Hint: The path beginning at 55 Bay Road is a public walkway.
