There are several routes to and from this quick drive by cache, all with there own merits. Look at a map and pick the one best for you.
You can park anywhere on the grass verges around Ward’s Hill and walk to the cache, although you can actually park 15 metres from it, if you so wish.
IF YOU DO THIS IN THE DARK BEWARE OF THE QUARRY ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO SIMONSIDE, IT IS FENCED OFF BUT NOT TOO WELL.
There are great views of the Simonside hills from anywhere along the road, especially at sunset. If you’re lucky you could be up here on your own with nobody about. When I set the cache all I saw was, sheep, cattle, rabbits, grouse and a hawk of some type. From here there are several footpaths to various destinations, The Lee, Forestburn Gate, The Chirms and the best one “The Gusset.”
Cache contents:- Log book, build bubbles, toy horse, cocktail stirrer, yellow car, egg cup, crocodile bottle opener, locker coin key ring x 2, all items I’ve found in other caches
