The name of this cache was inspired by the sculpture that you will pass on your way to the cache. This sculpture was originally part of an installation named "Drums Along The Niagara". It was created at nearby Artpark in 1989. The piece you see here was restored in 1998 by the Lewiston Council on Arts and by the artist.
The sculpture is now in a little turn-off from the Niagara Historic Trail, Route 18F, in an area know as "Grand View". Originally built in 1849 by Reuben H. and Maria Barton Boughton. Most of what remains is the orchard from the extensive fruit industry of this area. This land was purchased in 1857 by Silas Hopkins, the first judge of Niagara County. Hopkins owned the land until 1961. Much of the estate is now the riverside portion of Joseph Davis State Park. The cache itself is at the listed coordinates, but I'm sure you won't be able to miss the sculpture while seeking the treasure! There is a bit of a trail to the left of the sculpture. Enjoy another bit of the historyalong the Niagara River.
