Geocache Description:

This is a seasonal half-day hike to a beautiful alpine lake. It replaces another cache originally hidden by Rothstafari.

The 4-mile hike climbs about 1800 feet traversing the valley between Sliver Peak (to the east) and Humpback Mountain (to the west). You may encounter snow here well into June. The trail levels off about 1 mile from the lake and then crosses a couple of possible snow slide areas. In the summer there are plenty of small streams to filter water from. Make sure to grab the Annette Lake Trail cache along the way.

The cache is a 30 caliber ammo can located near a great place to camp or picnic. Since this is a very popular destination on nice weekends make sure to be discreet. If you prefer solitude may I suggest nearby Scout Lake.

Directions:
Take I-90 to exit 47 and head south for one tenth of a mile.
Turn left on Tinkham and drive three tenths of a mile.
The large parking lot, and trail head, is located at N47 23.505 W121 28.436
A NW forest pass is required.

You also could park at Hyak, go through the 2-mile tunnel, and grab a few caches on the way down the Iron Horse trail before heading to the lake. It’s 4.3 miles from the Hyak parking lot to the intersection with the Annette lake trail.
