Geocache Description:

This cemetery is named after Isaac Bucco/Bocco, (1799-1884) who owned the land and donated a half acre as a cemetery for family members and neighboring farmers. Bucco, Hoppes, Stanley, Stinson, Clem and McCray etc, can be found. This cemetery in modern times was being encroached upon by an Interstate highway and business developments. The Bucco was in shambles by mid-twentieth century and was actually listed as destroyed at one point. In 1985, the Kik-tha-we-nund Chapter of the D.A.R. recorded all legible data from existing markers. Located on a small hill complete with magnificent, aged trees and perennial peonies, the Bucco, once forgotten and in danger of obliteration and now surrounded by modern business has become an excellent example of how the past can beautify the present.

And it is an example of how nature can be saved from Tech (the highway) and now the Tech (gps) can lead us to a beautiful spot of nature and rest.

My personal interest in this cemetery came about 35 years ago when I started my quest for my family history. I found my great-grandfather, Henry McCray buried here with his second wife, Nancy S. Rector McCray. However, I am descended from Henry and his first wife Clarinda Roland McCray. We have never found her resting place. As she left minor children when she passed away, it is almost a sure thing that there was no extra money to buy her a headstone. Thus, we have been "Looking for Clarinda" for 35 years.

The cache should be easy to find. It is a painted green/brown plastic coffee jar. It contains along with the log book and pencil the following:

Deck of Save the Whales playing cards
Chip bag clip
Carabiner & compass, taken from my first cache find.
Small spring clip
Ambulance Hot Wheel
TB Lucky Leopard

Enjoy the cache!
