This is BB's 4th cache.
This cache is located on a short walk through one of the South East's Native Forest Reserves. The creekbed which the cache is named after was once a channel that drained the area from Mt Schank. The steepness of the banks and the meandering nature of the creek showa that a large amount of water flowed for a very short time. Wombats inhabit this area, and their surface scratchings can be seen all around. There are some holes around here too which are definiety owner occupied.
Along the walk there are old wagon tracks which are believed to have been made by drays travelling between Mt Gambier, Portland and Port MacDonnell. The area is also home to many native species including Emu, Echidna, Wombats, Possums and Kangaroo. Delicate native orchids are also seen here during Spring.
This track joins up to another which gives great views of the Glenelg River and surrounding countryside. The total distance of the walk is 4.8 kilometres and is well worth the time and effort to complete.
The cache is a 730 ml clip top container hidden in some rocks. Original cache contents are Tusk the Walrus, a stinker skateboard, keyring, Native bush tomato seeds, swimming cap and some glowing stars.
Be sure to leave the cache exactly as you found it.
