How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

This is an easy hike. It is dog and kid friendly, so by all means, bring them along. You are looking for a rubbermaid container about 12 by 8 inches.Have fun!

This is a theme cache. Everything in it is dog related.
Please respect the theme.

It can be a toy of a dog for a kid, an actual dog toy, or anything with a dog on it. Please do not put in tennis balls, unless they have a pet store logo on them. (It's just too easy, I can see this cache becoming overloaded with used tennis balls.)

I'd love to hear about your dog or have pictures of your dog visiting my cache.

All travel bugs are welcome.

Warning to out of staters, Illinois is heavily laden with ticks in the spring and summer, even on the paved trails. Make sure your dog is on a preventive, or tick check your dog afterwards, if doing this cache in the spring or summer.

This cache has a 5 squirrel rating!(the number of squirrels we saw in the immediate area when placing the cache).

Please place the cache back as you found it, and make sure it is completely hidden/covered, especially on top. Thanks.

Please do not list in the virtual log what you leave or take(as much as I like to hear it). Someone has been stealing from this cache, and I don't want to make it easy for them. They will need to visit the cache to see if there is anything to steal from it.

See you on the trail!
