Geocache Description:

This short multi cache takes in views of Westbury White Horse, Scotland and Ireland. It can get muddy after wet weather and is not suitable for push chairs.

Go this way

The North Bradley parish comprises of North Bradley and Southwick , both of which are 2 miles from Trowbridge. Several outlying hamlets include the oddly named Scotland and Ireland which were originally built on common ground. They are believed to have derived their name from the fact that locals thought them to be in the back of beyond!! Many local jokes have been made about this and a popular one was that many people were walking to Ireland without getting their feet wet! These two hamlets have now dwindled in population and not many houses still exist. Follow the posted co-ordinates and find out when Gerald Bown died. Put the date in the following format 12/3/45 and solve the following equation by substituting the bracketted numbers : N51 (3) 7 . (4+4) 0 6 W002 (3) (5) . 9 4 (5) This takes you to the main cache which is the usual Gowenhouse tupperware container (sorry Wombles) . You can either drive to the sign on the Southwick Road (see picture above) for a shorter walk, or find a footpath from North Bradley. The choice is yours. Good luck.
