A few years ago, there was a road that went up to Seymour dam. This road became very popular with bike riders, rollerbladers, and joggers. As beautiful as the old road was, it was not always safe. Logging trucks and service trucks often used the road, too. So, a new road was made for only recreational purposes. No motorized vehicles are allowed. The road is 10km long and there are a few easy trails at the end of it. If you decide to go to the end, there is a fish hatchery and a nature center (I think. It’s never open when I’m up there). Around the 7km mark, the view of the mountains is very nice.
The cache is hidden about 5 feet off the side of the road, about 5.7 km from the starting point. You will have to walk on some grass, but no bushwhacking is necessary. There is a picnic area nearby, in case you feel like packing a lunch. Make sure that you take note of when the park closes at night, or else your car could be locked in. The container is a 3.5" X 2.5" lock and lock, so it can only hold a couple of small trade items (along with a small log book and pencil).
For bonus points, answer this riddle. The solution can be seen on a sign along the way. – Who can see creek? – Ok. There are no bonus points. But if you e-mail us the answer, then you will get a congratulatory e-mail in return.
We hope you enjoy the scenery of the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve and Hydraulic Picnic.
