Historical Marker

Claybank Pits, this area was once used for mining clay. As well as the birthplace of the Red Wing clay industry.At one point there was an old school house on this property that pottery was made. There is alot of information on thre plaques that is very interesting, take the time to stop and read them. You are looking for a kool-aid cotainer, contents at time of placing were log book, pencil, a golf ball clock, cliford squirt toy, some erasers, yo-yo and some other stuff.
