This is an easy cache located at a beautiful pullout over-looking the mighty Upper Missouri River. Small green micro, no pen. Please write small.
This cache is located just upriver of the historical town of Fort Benton, Montana. Originally a fur trading post that became one of the oldest towns in Montana established in 1850. End of the line for steamboats coming up from St. Louis. Supplies and miners left here for the gold mines near Helena. Supplies also went from there on wagons as far as Idaho and Canada. As many as 47 steamboats docked at Fort Benton in its peak year of 1867. The last steamboat docked in 1922! The railroads had long replaced the steamboats. Beautiful place to stop, stretch your legs and snap a photo. Great view of Muddy Mo. Please write small.
