You will find a fairly long pullout on the north side of SR 2
near the cache site. Find the trail near the west end of this
parking area. It is short, but steep, and when wet can be quite
slippery, hence the terrain difficulty rating. The cache is off the
trail but no bushwacking is needed. Turn east past the first moss
covered rock wall and follow it around into a rocky alcove and look
under the hanging fern at right covering a crack. Remember that
"cache seekers assume all risks involved in seeking a cache;"
This can be a cache 'n dash but take time to go down to
the river and look at the rapid. This is where rafters and kayakers
come to scout this challenging rapid. During rafting season
(primarily late spring and early summer), it is also the place to
come and watch them run the rapid. More information on the rapid
itself is available at the American
Whitewater website.
