Geocache Description:

Named after my favorite Red Skelton character, this cache is near the summit of Mt. Klem in the Belknap range. If you are too young to know who Red Skelton is you are encouraged to goggle his name to find out more about this remarkable man and his work.

Cache is a small ammo box, easily found just off the red trail near the summit. THERE IS NO LONGER AN APPROACH FROM GRANT RD. It is now posted no hiking, no trail access, blah, firkkin blah. Several approaches still work however. A very long but doable day would be from Gunstock and end up at Mt. Major. There are several caches along the way. Be aware that the Quarry Trail is strenuous in places. Take the map only if you must. It is intended for others to study on their trek. Maps can be purchased from the Belknap Fire Tower (8/09 - believed to be closed) during the summer months for $2.00 or the Gilford Library. Also, take a picture and sign the camera log. This is becoming a cache rich area so be sure to check for all caches in the area.
