Geocache Description:

A traditional cache placed on a cliff-top area overlooking Hilbre Island and the Marine Lake in Wesk Kirby, Wirral

The cache is placed just back from this popular viewpoint in West Kirby, Wirral. The viewpoint marks a breakpoint in the Wirral Way, where you can continue onto the Marine Lake and the attractions of the waterfront in West Kirby.

If you carry onto the Marine Lake you can take a walk right around its perimeter as there is a path built onto the Lake Wall. The beach is also really nice with many walks extending from the area, focused around the Wirral Way which continues on into the seaside town of New Brighton.

As the name suggests, one of the main sights from this point (apart from Wales of course!) is Hilbre Island. You can walk out to this island but a lot of care is required as you cross a tidal estuary that can be VERY dangerous. Don't let this put you off - just prepare properly. Please go to (visit link) for details before attempting to cross!

The nearest point to park, if you're not walking from a further point, is at N53'21.383 W003'10.101 - the cache is 5 mins walk from this point.

Please not that the covering for the cache changes slightly with the seasons. During winter, the gorse receeds and leaves a grassy covering. During spring and summer, the gorse should cover the cache.

We hope you enjoy the view and go onto enjoy the surrounding area!

Good luck, and Happy Caching!

Team 'James W'
