Geocache Description:

This cache is located in State Game Lands Number 170 in Perry County.

Spring Seeps are areas at the base of mountains where ground water seeps out of the ground at 50 to 60 degrees. In the winter everything else is frozen. So this is where wildlife gathers. There are birds, mammals and amphibians. The salamanders and frogs tend to produce new generations in these areas. There are generally no fish.

You can reach Bryson Hollow by parking at a State Game Land parking area on Tower Road N 40 19.310 W 076 57.795 Tower Road is a dirt road over Blue Mountain. I would suggest coming in from the Perry County side. You can go in an ordinary vehicle if you take it easy and the road is dry. The Cumberland County side is very steep. You will have to cross Bryson Hollow Run. Its an easy crossing on large rocks. There is a hill to climb. Little Mountain.

Or you can park on Lamb's Gap Road at N 40 18.587 W 077 00.372. Walk to the Darlington Trail Holtz Road intersection at N 40 18.639 W 076 59.350 on an unnamed trail. This is a longer route.

Follow the Orange Blazed Darlington Trail until you are near the cache. The Darlington Trail is well maintained.

The cache is in a 30 Caliber Ammo Box. It is near a spring seep. It was inspired by an article in the Sunday Patriot-News by Marcus Schneck (Nature's Navigator) on the Spring Seeps.

Game Land regulations require you to wear 250 square inches of blaze orange clothing which are visible in a 360 degree arc in hunting season. Be Safe!
