Vestlandske Hovedvei Traditional Cache

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Geocache Description:

Cachen befinner seg ikke langt fra Vestlandske Hovedvei og er plassert i 117 m høyde.

Man kommer til Vestlandske Hovedvei fra nord på rv. 44 og tar av ved i Ogna sentrum. Der er det skiltet frem. Parkeringsplass finnes ca. 100 m. fra rv. 44. Man kan også komme til Vestlandske Hovedvei fra sørsiden, noe sør for Hellvik. Dette er angitt med skilt.

Vestlandske Hovedvei er stengt for biltrafikk. Du kan benytte sykkel,men det er nok mest vanlig å gå turen. Dersom man har barnevogn så går også det, men det kan nok bli litt tungt enkelte steder hvor det er bratte partier.
Hele Vestlandske Hovedvei er ca. 7-8 km. Cachen er vel ca. 2 km. fra der den begynner fra sydsiden (Ogna-siden).

Fra parkeringsplass som er er nevnt er det ca. 3 km. til cache, men på sydsiden er det også parkeringsplass for 2-4 biler ved Hølland Bru, som bare er ca. 200 m fra der Vestlandske starter. Man kan ta sjansen på at det er plass der.

Opprinnelig cache innhold: Puslespill, nøkkelring, nissefigur, utenlandske mynter, golfplugg, blyant og blyantspisser og en spesiallaget Mappy 'button'.

The cache can be found a short distance from Vestlandske Hovedvei and is placed in an altitude of 117 m.Vestlandske Hovedvei is accessed from north by riksvei 44. You turn off in Ogna centre. A sign there will direct you to the Hovedvei. Parking space is located approx. 100 m. from rv. 44. You can also access Vestlandske Hovedvei from the south, somewhat south of Hellvik. A roadsign there will give you the direction.

Vestlandske Hovedvei is closed for cars. You can use bike, but walking is most common. If you have a pram it will also probably work out OK, but it will be a bit tough in the steeper parts. Vestlandske Hovedvei is approx. 7-8 kms long. The cache is placed approx. 2 kms from the start on the southside (Ogna side).

From the previously mentioned parking space there is also (on the south-side) parking space for 2-4 cars at Hølland Bridge which is only approx. 200 m from the starting point of Vestlandske Hovedvei. You could always take a chance and hope for a space there.

Original cache contents: Small puzzle, comb, keyring, Santa Claus figure, various foreign coins, golf peg, pencil and pencilsharpener and a specially made Mappy button.
