Geocache Description:

Ths cache is located on some pretty ski/mountain bike trails in Northern NY State. Located just off the BREIA Ski Trails on Egypt Road in Alder Creek, NY., you may not find this cache in the dead of winter unless you dig for it.

This is my first cache hide and it's close to home to watch. You are looking for a green Ammo Box. With the following items: Geocache Button, Retractable Laptop/PC Cord, Padlock Style Calculator, TB - Vacationing Zoombie, DVD of the Andy Griffith Show, 2 Rain Bonnets.

*************************************************

I've moved the cache to a place where skiiers & snowshoers can find it as well. The cords. have changed. Since there was no tree coverage they should be right on. I've also changed the rating as well to easier.

*************************************************

Unless you are an avid x-country skier, you may not know about The BREIA Trails, but they are the best ski trail system in Central New York, and rival Mt. Van Hoevenberg’s grooming and upkeep. They are great for biking in the summer and fall, and terrific skiing or snowshoeing in the winter. And they are always free, unlike Lake Placid and other groomed ski areas. So strap on your skis, and get ready for some fun. Oh, and take your mug of hot chocolate for some R&R at the warming hut if it’s one of the many sub-zero days. The trail system actually starts in Boonville, New York, but has many trailheads at various points in the area. You are starting at Alder Creek, on State Route 12, south of Boonville about 5 miles, just before where Route 12 splits and Y’s off to Old Forge. Take a right (from Boonville) onto Egypt Road and look for the second trailhead (Across from the cemetery). Today, B.R.E.I.A. boasts 50 kilometers of trails, most of which are machine groomed for cross-country skiing during winter months. The recreation trails are only a small part of the system however. The thousands of acres surrounding the paths and bridges are waiting to be explored and all of the plants and animal life available for study.”
