Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Manlius Center Burial Grounds, by the side of Route 290 near Manlius Center. Parking isn't obvious, although there are some gravel areas that we used for parking a bit down the road toward the Erie Canal. The nearby residential road would work just as well. However you park, you'll need to walk a bit.

Manlius Center Burial Grounds is a historic cemetery sandwiched between a golf course and a busy road. At one time it was probably a beautiful plot of land in the woods, but little evidence of that era is left. I encourage you to stop and read the headstones while you're here. Also, be sure to look for the horse across the street. I predict he/she'll have many more visitors than usual in the next few months.

We discovered this area when we made a wrong turn trying to hide the cache 60 Degrees. On the way home, we stopped and scouted out the area. Luckily, it's a perfect home for an ammo box, which is rare in an area this open. It's near some headstones, but not hidden by them. You will be able to access this cache respectfully.

The cache container is a green ammo box filled with all kinds of trading items and a logbook. Keep in mind the 'trading up' rule, so this cache stays well-stocked! This cache has the potential to end up a cemetery within a cemetery (of used golfballs.) TNLN-ing is much prefered to golfball trading.

If you visit in the fall, you'll probably understand the name.

Good luck!

10-09-04: Be sure to check out the pictures I posted today. They're from 3 different trips there, including the time the cache was hidden. I personally recommend the Cool (Creepy?) ones. They turned out much better than they were supposed to.
