Christmas Tree Graveyard Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Car54: Sadly, the Christmas Tree Graveyard has also become the graveyard of our first ammo box. Given the relative visibility of the location, we aren't terribly surprised that the cache disappeared, but we are disappointed. It does seem to be gone - it's certainly not where we put it or in the near vicinity. Given the 2 DNF's and our failure to locate it, we are archiving the cache. One of the TB's shown as being here was picked up early on; the other one may have sufferred the same fate as the cache. We hope not, but we'll e-mail its owner, just in case. We will now observe a moment of silence for this, our missing cache. [:(]

Geocache Description:

Located in a Lafayette city park.

Christmas Tree Graveyard

We know this area as the final resting place for our Christmas tree every year. However, this park does have other, more positive, things to offer – such as a playground for the kiddies and a couple of picnic shelters, to mention just two.

You are looking for a camo-painted 30 cal. ammo box, containing the usual assortment of trinkets. As you approach the co-ordinates, we’re sure you’ll spot where the cache must be. The challenge will be to find which of the many possible locations holds the cache. Let us know in your log if you think our difficulty rating needs adjusted – either up or down.

If you hunt this in late December or early January, please pay your respects to the valiant Christmas trees who gave their all.
