This is the story of Jerome.

Jerome is a gnome who likes to roam as they all do , but Jerome took it to the extreme. You see when Jerome was a little bitty gnome just a baby really he roamed away from home. Well he was too young to know that he was a gnome but around the world he roamed until he was a grown gnome. As a grown gnome Jerome began to wonder where he belonged as he had not seen any other gnomes while he roamed. (This is mainly because Jerome did not always pick the most desirable areas to roam to.) And so Jerome roamed alone until he ended up in Ireland where he met his first leprechaun, a lady leprechaun named Mattie.

Jerome fell in love with Mattie at first sight. Mattie told Jerome it would never work out because he was a gnome not a leprechaun. But Jerome did not know what a gnome was and he kept insitisting he was a leprechaun, after all they were both wee folk. In the name of love Jerome tried desperately to convince his lady love Mattie that he was too a leprechaun worthy of her love. Jerome started wearing green, chasing rainbows, hanging out in pubs telling stories and collecting all the gold and lucky charms he could find. To all he met he told of his quest to win the heart of Mattie his beloved.

Jerome made quite a few friends along the way who were symathic to his plight. Jack, from the bean stock, gave him one of the gooses golden eggs, a casino owner named Stella gave him some lucky dice, a farmer from Oklahoma gave him his lucky hat and all the while Jerome gathered all the four leaf clovers, gold and any other lucky charms he could find. He even sailed the Seven seas for lucky sevens. Jerome kept all his gold and lucky charms hidden in the forest in a flower pot. (He really is not a leprechaun remember.)

One day Mattie came to visit Jerome in the forest and brought with her a picnic lunch for her and Jerome to share. As a special treat she also brought some fresh honey comb. As you may or may not know and Jerome and Mattie certainly did not know that gnomes do not eat sweets. Never, no candy, cakes, pies, honey, fruit or nectar. It seems that sweets make gnomes silly and gnomes do not like to be silly, ever!! But fate was at work and they ate the lovely picnic lunch including the honey comb which Jerome thought was the best thing he had ever eaten in his life. Mattie went home and soon after Jerome started feeling silly. He started giggling and could not stop as all kinds of silly thoughts kept popping into his head. Jerome suddenly thought how silly his hiding place for his flower pot full of gold and lucky charms was, a very silly place to hide a treasure he thought and he ran to hide it somewhere else. But evey time he would hide it somewhere else he thought that was a silly spot too and would move it again. Jerome spent the entire afternoon hopped up on honey comb hiding and rehiding his flower pot full of gold and lucky charms until he was exhausted and lay down for a nap. Jerome did not wake up until the next morning and when he did he had a terrible headache but worst of all he could not remember where last he had hidden his flower pot. Jerome was distraught and has requested help from all who will to please help him find his flower pot full of lucky charms and gold. Jerome has even offered a reward for the finder of one of his lucky charms he has hidden.

If you decide to help Jerome you may even see him searching too.
