This cache is subtitled “A Nice Walk in the Woods”. The reason why
we chose this subtitle should become obvious.
Amen Lake is another of the many hiking/ski trails maintained by
Itasca County. This is a two stage cache. Coordinates for the
second stage will be found at the first stage. Round trip is
between 1.25 and 1.5 miles, so give yourself plenty of time to
enjoy the walk. There is no need to bushwhack, as the existing
trails will take you to within 100 feet of each stage.
Park at N 47° 24.554, W 093° 37.830.
The cache is a .50 cal ammo box which contains (what we hope
are) a variety of useful objects, along with a bag of our signature
Oregon agates. The cache also contains a camera. We hope you will
take a photo of yourself at the final cache site.
Happy Geocaching!!
Note: Stage One was slightly modified on 14 Apr 07. New coordinates
for Stage One are:
