Great Smoky Mountain Travel Bug Campground

Mills Park, Gatlinburg

Bring your owned/retrieved travel bugs and afford them the distinction of camping out with others in a park adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg Tennessee. This travel bug campground resides in a Gatlinburg city park named Mills Park located on Mills Park Road just off of Rt. 321 outside of Gatlinburg proper. The park is a full service park containing picnic tables, restrooms, horseshoe pits, a jogging trail, sinks and grills, and a covered pavilion (pavilion may be utilized by reservation on a fee basis). For sports enthusiasts; tennis courts, a basketball court, softball field, football field, and 400-meter track, are available.

A great view of Mt. LeConte may be seen from most areas of the park!

A medium size camouflage painted ammo box is the cache housing the camping travel bugs. It is requested that if you take a camping travel bug from it's campsite, that you replace it with a travel bug anxious to have the prestige of camping in the Great Smoky Mountains. As long as there is enough room in the camping ammo box, you may leave a travel bug to just camp here, there is no necessity in removing a camping travel bug. If you would like to just stop by and visit the camping travel bugs; be sure to at least sign the log book.

If you are a owner of a travel bug camping here and you would like it to "pull up stakes" just e-mail me in which direction you would like him to travel and it will continue its journey.

A “spoiler” hint is provided if you so choose to use.

BONUS: A micro cache placed by a fellow member of the GSMGC; Bonus Cache #2,
is within a leisurely walking distance from here.

Continue further out of Gatlinburg on 321 and visit other nearby caches such as Emerts Cove CB and
Eli Pittman Cache, among others.

Have fun and enjoy the park!
