Hike to Sturdee Cove - Stage 10 - The Final Stage
You are now on the beach. This is the final cache of the series. The beach is sandy, but the water is cold. It was a nice sunny day today and hardly any wind. On October 2, 2004, when we hiked in with the 1st Marathon Scout Troop for lunch, there was high winds and the waves were crashing in.
When we were in this area today near the cache, we saw moose tracks. It looks like a large moose walked through this area late last night or early this morning and then walked up the creek.
The cache is near the east end of the beach, but you have to go into the bush a short distance. The cache is a large plastic jar covered with duct tape with a red lid.
