In Medium Ammo-Can. May be Muddy. Please make sure the ammo-can is CLOSED before you leave. In other words, "Close the dang can, or everything gets wet."
Whatcom County River and Flood Division recently purchased this parcel of land in their Flood Hazard Reduction Program. It sits on the Canyon Creek Alluvial Fan (hence the punny name for the cache). The site is the location of the former "The Logs Resort". All the cabins have been ripped out along with the owner's home and the roads. The site is about 5 miles outa Maple Falls, heading east. Park off the Mt. Baker Highway and walk in past the rocks. If you cross the Nooksack you need to turn around. The cache is about 400' off the road. The coords ought to be good as we had 17' of error and a wide satellite spread. Signal was good under the tree cover, too. The cache originally contained: Koda Bear TB, 2-mini-Umbrellas, a mini-Flashlight, a green monster who lights up when you try to pull his arms off, a wind-up toy egg, a rock egg, a Disney Duck-ette, blue stuffed mouse, a stuffed horse, several toy vehicles, a set of poker dice, and a plastic dinosaur.
