Geocache Description:

This two-part cache takes you to a pleasant walking area on the edge of the Vale of Belvoir. You will enjoy the scenery of an ancient woodland and a disused canal. There is some steep walking along muddy paths which may surprise you in what seems a flat area!Suitable parking: In the canal car park at N52.55.496 W001.00.109 (67202 36800) or in the Cropwell Bishop Memorial Hall car park at N52.54.797 W000.59.525 (67875 35575).

Hobbit Home - the first stage of the cacheThe coordinates will take you to an antique Boots Glycerine Pastilles tin (10cm x 8.5cmx 3cm). This contains the grid reference to the main cache which contains the goodies. The first cache is in a pleasant woodlands area near Cropwell Bishop. It is right at the top. This woods has a plethora of trees with nooks and crannies suitable for hiding a cache! You are looking for what looks like a small cave entrance under a small tree – in the shape of the ace of spades! It is an ideal home for very small hobbits. There is not much room in the tin so please don't leave anything in here. Just enjoy reading the writing on the tin lid!
Elementary Canal - the main cache. There is no direct route to the main cache! You may have to find your way to the canal but, be warned, it may be on the wrong side of the canal. The area is well supplied with footpaths and there are paths along both sides of the canal. You will probably be on the wrong side....... Information about this lovely canal is on www.granthamcanal.com. Be prepared for a bit of strategic walking. The cache is an old but very big ammo box 30cm x 15cm x 17cm. It is suitable for storing those larger cache goodies! There is barbed wire right next to the cache so be careful.
