Park open 7am-11pm with no day use fee. Beach parking permit req’d on sandy areas in County limits.

Camp out at Padre Bali Park – Bob Hall Pier. 56 trailer lots. 144 tent sites. Some primitive camping is near Cache Coordinates (fee) and south beyond N27.33.349 W097.14.038 (or) MARKER 253 (3day limit) and to the National Sea Shore open beach will provide free camping space under the dunes. Coyotes may be seen down the beach at dusk.

If camping please include city of residence and number in party in the Intend to Attend note. If numbers planning to attend are large enough in advance I may be able to negotiate a fee discount. Check at registration.

Restrooms and water are at the pier and campground. Wading and swimming is almost anywhere if water has warmed enough, and a good chance to get her/him on a moonlight swim in the surf. Surf fishing is anywhere.

At N27.31.497 W097.14.997 you may find a US Navy radio shack with minesweepers training just off shore. Sometimes Marines from San Antonio train here also. At the south end of Mustang Island State Park at GCKAAW you might see navy helicopters training with sea sleds. They could cause you a bit longer walk to the cache.

Approx 100 caches are located in a 20mi. arc of either coordinate. 5 are in or near the park. 7 benchmarks are within .4mi. of the cache including 1 in the campground and 2 out on Bob Hall Pier.

A potluck dinner and prizes at 7:30PM sat. evening on the beach or in the campground. Tables amd your camp chairs will be useful.

Will someone sponsor a ham/bacon, egg and pancake dawn breakfast on the beach Sun morning? A small donation is suggested to cover expenses. Contact BroRay@stx.rr.com
