Cache is located on Cape Pogue on Chappaquidick Island
Cape Pogue Wildlife refuge is on Chappaquiddick Island's eastern edge. It is a barrier beach formed thousands of years ago by offshore currents that deposited tons of sand. Today this beach extends for seven miles from Wasque Point past the Cape Poge Lighthouse to the Gut.I suspect this cache will be very lonely. If visited, it will likely be by fishermen who Geocache with an oversand SUV pass, folks who like to SUV and have the oversand permit, or people who come in by boat- either Cape Pogue Bay or Nantucket Sound. Kudos to anyone who hikes in, a very big challenge but not impossible (several mile hike in sand). To claim a find at this virtual cache site email me describing the two objects on the outside of the lighthouse on the south side.
September 2008 Update: I should have said this years ago but underneath the lighthouse is a "Qwest". It is kind of like a geocache but from what I understand it is an educationally related game. The "Qwest" does have permission from the Trustees for a physical object under the lighthouse and I didn't. Hence the Virtual cache.
