Geocache Description:

This is the heartrending story of the Pine family.

Conifer and Sequoia Pine lived in a cabin deep in the woods of north Texas with their son and daughter, White and Loblolly. The Pines loved to take long walks in the woods near the lake shore. One day about 150 years ago (give or take) they left their little cabin and went on one of these walks, never be seen again. An exhaustive search was launched but no one was ever found. The locals say “They are probably still out there. They were never really good with directions, their just lost.”

This tragic story is world famous now. After nearly 200 (give or take) years of continuous searching, there is a well marked trail that searchers still use today. They call this trail “The Lost Pines Nature Trail”, start your search here. Make sure you follow this trail because you can still see the remains of the cabin. The state of Texas has declared the Pine homestead a historical site.

The only clue ever found in 250 years (give or take) was a metal box that contained some of the Pines possessions. You can help. Your job is to locate this box. Please help find the Lost Pines!
