This cache is located in a once thriving Gold Town that now relies on tourism for its main income. There are plenty of beautiful sand stone buildings lining the main street with a lot more history inside them and around the local area. We placed this cache here to help others discover the wonders of this sleepy little town full of extremely friendly people. Whilst looking around the town be sure to visit the council building where you will find a pictorial display of the history of Cue and its surrounds.
We spent a very enjoyable but rushed few days with friends who live here and still only saw a small amount of what this area has to offer. Plan to stay a while and soak up some gold mining history including:-The main street with information signs erected in the relevant places.
Big Bell Township. The only remaining building is the skeleton of the old 2-story pub that once entertained the town’s population of mine workers. The streets are still there with only the gardens and abandoned footings of where houses once stood.
There are information signs to show where the more prominent building once stood proud.

There are also some very interesting Aboriginal paintings at:

We placed the cache in the highest point around with a great view of the town. (You can even get CDMA reception from here.)The cache is a small lunch box size clip top container-containing a Poncho, Water proof bag, Toy car, Harry Potter Set, some craft scissors, log book, pen and stash note. Be careful as you approach GZ as there are a lot of loose rocks around and please replace the cache well out of site as this site does have a lot of local visitors. We would like to thank Lyn Pat and Nathan for the cache name sharing and our friends Stan and Carol for maintaining this cache for us between visits..
