Geocache Description:

Located in the vicinity of the Chase Farm along the Great Road Historic District in Lincoln RI. The terrain is family friendly and the gradual uphill walk is well within the ability of small children. The suggested parking is behind Blacksmith Shop at N 41 54.370 W 71 25.710.

Great Road Historic District is one of the Blackstone Valley’s treasures where over 300 years of history can be found within 3 miles. Chase Farm, a 118-acre dairy farm which was active for a century until 1965, is now preserved as green open space that is used for a number of activities such as summer concerts and fall haywagon rides. This is a popular sledding hill during winter. Also on site are a butterfly garden and the Hannaway Blacksmith Shop, which is open several times a year for blacksmithing demonstrations. The area, maintained by the Town of Lincoln Parks & Recreation, is open from dawn to dusk and attracts many walkers, some with dog on leash.

The cache was relocated 1/2005 a short distance from where originally placed in conjunction with an article on geocaching which was featured in the 2004 Autumn in the Valley, a seasonal insert to the Valley Breeze, a weekly publication which is distributed freely throughout the region.
