The Nakoda, the Tatanka, and the Missouri Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Red Hot Mama: I'm archiving this cache as I no longer live in Wolf Point and maintaining it will be difficult when I probably will only visit once or twice a year.

Geocache Description:

This cache has recently been changed and is even easier with no bushwacking, just a fence to edge around at the end. When you get to it let the force be with you and you will know right where it is.

To know what the title means read the sign at the entry to the park (both sides). This is a very nice little park and fishing access area, used a great deal by local people, and recently improved for the Lewis and Clark celebration. The views of the Missouri are terrific here. This is the Southern entry to the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. In 1912 this reservation was opened to homesteading, thus Wolf Point has almost as many white home owners as Indian. This reservation is home to both the Nakoda (Assiniboine) and the Lakota (Sioux). The cache is hidden in a slightly different type of ammo can. I scared up a bunch of white tail deer while hiding it, and disturbed some Canadian Geese coming back out. These waters and woods are home to lots of wild life. The cache is loaded with tools, manicure set, gardening gloves, kitchen towel set, rubber stamps, flashlight, stickers, Nerd Bean, Stegasaurus, and other things. There is also a log, pencil sharpener, pencils, and pen which are to stay with the cache.

10/24/06 I PLACED THIS CACHE IN A NEW, EASIER TO FIND LOCATION. IT WILL NOW BE EASIER FOR MUGGLES TO FIND ALSO SO PLEASE REHIDE IT VERY WELL, EXACTLY AS YOU FIND IT AND IF YOU FIND THE DECOY SPOTS FIRST PLEASE ALSO PUT THEM BACK AS YOU FIND THEM. THANK YOU .
