Geocache Description:

This is a multi featuring the oldest recorded grave in Grand Rapids. The last stage is an ammo box.

The first stage will take you to the oldest grave in Grand Rapids. The grave belongs to Andrew Haldane, the grave reads:

In memory of Andrew Haldane
who dies September 6, 1835
in the twenty-fifth year of his age.

The inscription has worn off over time but the stone still stands, it is white in color and is engraved with a decorative element of wheat.

To get the location of the next stage you much obtain some details from the gravestone of William and Sarah Haldane (who I think are Andrew's Brother and Sister-in-law). William was the first cabinet maker in Grand Rapids, and a key player in the Michigan Furniture Industry (which means a lot around here).

William Haldane
Born: A/A/1E0B
Died: D/A/1EFE

Sarah Haldane
Born: D/2F/1E12
Died: 2/A/1EFC

The second stage is located about a mile away. Use the Key above to complete the coordinates below.

Coordinates for the second and final stage.

Please post some pictures of yourself in the cemetery, I would love to see those who have found this cache. There are some really cool grave stones here, some belonging to men killed in the Civil War! At the Second Stage take time to notice nature, there are some wonderful large oak trees. Also please email me with the coordinates you get for the final stage, it was a cloudy day and I would like to average them and get a better fix on it.

*Only use the hint if you are very stuck.
