Geocache Description:

Oldox hill fort is one of the largest remaining Iron Age hill forts in Nottinghamshire. It has a single rampart, ditch and counterscarp on the west, and three banks and ditches on the east. The large mound, which is some six m high and found outside the north-west entrance is known as Robin Hood’s Pot. It is probably a round barrow and has produced a pot of Roman coins and a saxon burial. The camp once covered an area of 4.5 acres and gives fantastic views in all directions over Nottinghamshire. The cache is accessible via the Robin Hood series of footpaths that cover the area. The container is a old ammo tin, and contains logbook & pens + some rather juicy swaps, first there have the advantage.
