Geocache Description:

A regular geocache a short walk from Benchmark: AH4877

Well, once again woodcutter and trusty companion went out benchmark hunting. We found an interesting one. It's a stock pond south of Vail just off Wentworth Road. We recommend that you print out the Benchmark Detail for AH4877 (N32° 00.507' W110° 43.620') and follow their driving directions. When you do leave Wentworth Road it is onto a dirt road, twisty, but very passable with a passenger car. Park before you climb up the hill. That hill is the earthen dam. Find the benchmark and then set your GPSr to our geocache and go find it. Don't say: "Oh no!" and try to head straight for it. On the north side of the dam, on the way back to the car is an easy way down from the dam.

On the way to our cache, watch your feet. There are plenty of different and interesting species of small cacti. We also passed a rather large active pack rat nest by some mesquite trees. Our cache is nestled under a Mormon Tea bush (wanted to stay away from the packrats). Just in case you haven't a clue what a Mormon Tea bush looks like, here's a link: http://www.desertusa.com/april97/du_mormontea.html.
